“We tried to combine the different approaches that we took on previous recordings and at the same time capture the energy of the current line-up, in which we have found a balance both creatively and as players,” summarizes the circumstances of its creation multi-instrumentalist Pavel Kielberger, who is also responsible for the mixing and electronic moments of the album.
Drummer Filip Simon has swapped his minimalist kit from the band's early days for a full drum set, and unlike previous releases, keyboards and percussion also appear in the instrumentation. What remains, however, is the confident expression of British-born singer Iris Hobson-Mazur.
"The songs on this album tread the line between what is intimate and personal to me and what is complete fantasy," she writes of her lyrics. "I find that the two worlds seem to collide when I write lyrics, not only through creating characters and situations I’ve never been in but also through recognising my own delusions in how I perceive the world around me. I like to feel as if my own experiences are somewhere hidden throughout the song, but to most people and sometimes even to myself, it isn’t exactly clear where they begin and where they end."
Iris Hobson-Mazur: vocals
Pavel Kielberger: guitars, bass, keys, electronics
Marek Koliha: guitars, bass
Jakub Richtárech: keys, bass, percussion

"We have new music out! It’s an EP, it’s called AGEING and we’re super excited to share it with you! And while there could be a bunch of text here about the concept and all, it feels like the songs themselves have enough words in them already. So, if you find time to give it a listen, which we’d be super grateful for, hopefully you’ll find that it manages to somehow speak for itself. And if you have some thoughts about it that you’d like to share with us, we’d be super grateful for that too.
In the meantime, we’d love to thank
-Nichi Mlebom for all the great times recording, all the insight, enthusiasm and inspiration as well as his patience and willingness throughout the mixing process which he also took great care of
-Fabian Tormin aka Plätlin Mastering for amazing work done on the mastering
-Adam Križovenský for pouring his all into creating this masterpiece of a cover art"

...„But why, then, does the city exist? What line separates the inside from the outside, the rumble of wheels from the howl of wolves?“ wonders the emperor Kublai Khan in Calvino´s Le città invisibili, when he is told about one of the cities built with strange logic. But the traveller Marco Polo remains silent. Jako doma by Šimanský and Niesner offers a possible answer. Maybe towns like that exist so that people who live there have to find their own way out of the labyrinth and transform the conditions. “We want to dedicate the album to the people who stayed in Přerov and keep trying to make a difference there,” say Šimanský and Niesner, who themselves managed to escape the trappings of the past with the help of music. On Jako doma they finally found their real home.

...The new record by Oswaldovi is a testament to their ability to seamlessly blend disparate genres, creating a musical tapestry that is as captivating as it is innovative. Each track on the album is an adventure in its own right, showcasing their ability to transport listeners to different worlds. Oswaldovi's trademark fusion of influences provokes listeners with an otherworldly energy, transporting them to the outer reaches of their imagination. The haunting melodies and infectious rhythms evoke a sense of mystery and mysticism, while folklore elements add a touch of nostalgia and cultural richness.
Across the Borders We Build is set to solidify Oswaldovi’s position as one of the most consistent and boundary-pushing bands around. Brace yourselves for another musical journey like no other, as their genre-bending mysticism continues to captivate.

In times when we are united by much, but still divided by more, music can get flayed for being reactionary, opportunistic or undeclared. Meanwhile, the Kurws, on their fourth album, put things clearly, namely head-on. “Powięź / Fascia” is an album founded as much by the culture of anxiety as by their personal dreads. The affirmation and the fear of ambiguity are two heads of the same desire – and two driving forces behind these collected exercises in not giving up.
